Cause of Death:

It is believed the family moved to Kalgoorlie in late 1894. On his arrival at Charters Towers, Queensland, he turned to mining and also became the proprietor of the Clubhouse Hotel before moving to Kalgoorlie in 1894 where he managed the French-owned company Pride of the Hills and Slug Hill Mines near Trafalgar. In Boulder City he opened a large grocery store and a sizeable lodging house before taking on the Kunanalling Hotel as proprietor. For a number of years he worked on the Golden Mile and around 1915, commenced mining a big gold and scheelite formation at Comet Vale. He died after a lengthy illness.

Cause of Death: Premature birth

The child was born prematurely due to an accidental haemorrhage of the mother. The death was certified to in writing by J.P. Richards, father, Comet Vale. Witnesses to the burial were D. Meagher and W. Richards. The parents were married at Kalgoorlie on 5 September 1917. Their daughter, Cecelia Jean, was born at Creswick in Victoria in 1918.

The infant's death was certified in writing by C.A. Ross, father, Comet Vale. Witnesses to the burial were J.M. Stephens and Charles Ross. The child's parents were married in Perth in 1907 (Marriage Reg.No.478/1907).

Cause of Death: Heart Failure

Mr. Stacey was at work as usual and collapsed about 10 a.m. Despite artificial respiration by first-aid men on the mine and medical attention by Dr. Cashmore (who hastened to Comet Vale), the deceased passed away about mid-day. The cause of death was pronounced as heart failure. The late Mr. Stacey had suffered from heart trouble for some time and had only recently returned to Comet Vale from Leonora hospital where be had been receiving treatment. The deceased had been farming at Bridgetown before arriving in the Goldfields in January, 1934. It was assumed that being badly gassed with engine fumes a few months prior to his death had much to do with his sudden death.

Cause of Death: Acute Cardiac Dilation

Dominic Taverini died suddenly on the plat at the Sand Queen mine, No. 2 level. While the other miners were at their meal break, Dominic came along the level to the plat to get a drink of water. He was about to drink it when he was seen to stagger and fall. Although he was given immediate assistance, he was found to have died instantly. Constable Weaver was in Comet Vale at the time and took charge. He reported it to the Coroner (Mr. Gibbons), of Menzies, who ordered that a post-mortem examination be held which proved that the death was due to heart failure.

The death was registered by Lorenzo EPIS, brother-in-law of the deceased.

Cause of Death: Burnt to death in camp

It was the verdict of the Coroner's Jury that Williams accidentally burned to death when his camp caught fire. His camp was near Broad Arrow. His death was certified in writing by James Harvey, Police Constable No 772, Menzies. Witnesses to the burial were Thomas Kernan and Constable Harvey.

Cause of Death: Heart Failure, Mitral Regurgitation, Aortic Stenosis

The death was certified in writing by Arthur Williams, husband, Comet Vale. Witnesses to the burial were C.L.Williams and A.E. Flinders. The Death Certificate states that the deceased had lived in Victoria for 19 years.

Cause of Death: Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

Known as Charles Woodman.

The death was certified in writing by L. Woodman, wife of the deceased, Comet Vale. The deceased had lived in Victoria for 30 years.

At the Inquest held at Comet Vale on 5 December 1916, before D. Meagher, Esq., J.P., Acting Coroner, the verdict of the jury was that death was caused "by a gun shot wound self inflicted, there being no evidence to show the state of the deceased's mind when he committed the act."

Cause of Death: Marasmus

The death was certified to in writing by T.B. Bell, Undertaker, Comet Vale.  Witnesses to the burial were G.M. Wright and D. Meagher.

The child had been suffering from marasmus for several weeks. 

Rose Young married William Richard Thomas at Fremantle in 1902 before she married George Wright in 1910 at Perth (Marriage Reg.No.162/1910, Perth). It is not known what happened to her first marriage.
