The deceased was buried near the shearing shed at Arthur River Station. His grave is marked but has no inscription for identification.
When found, a dejected, thirsty horse was standing in the yard when station men arrived. It was still saddled. Waterbags on the saddle and beneath the horse's neck were dried out. The body, thought to be that of a native, was buried and the police were notified that the cause of death was unknown.
There are two lonely graves situated a few yards in from the homestead near Arthur River shearing shed on Arthur River Station. One is that of a child. The other was originally thought to be that of a native.
Subsequently, a lady who lives at Victoria Street, Leytonstone, London, England, enquired of her son missing from Arthur River Station. The police were notified and through the insistence of the District Coroner at Carnarvon, the body of the deceased stockman was exhumed, an autopsy performed in rudimentary conditions at the site and found to be that of a white man whose body had been blackened by death and the sun.
Further information has now come to light that the dead man may be the son of that Mrs Edna Winifred Robison, in London, and further investigation is continuing.
