Biography

The deceased was the brother of Edmond Prendergast. Both brothers were closely associated with Mr Moses McIlinney for many years. The deceased was in hospital at Sandstone for three months. He belonged to an old distinguished family. His first cousin being the Most Rev. Edmund Prendergast, who was late Archbishop of Philadelphia, Pa. U.S.A. The Rev. Fathers Prendergast and Halpin attended the deceased in his illness, the former conducting the burial service which began in the R.C. Church, Sandstone. The funeral was the largest for many years; a requiem mass was largely attended. Thomas is buried in the Roman Catholic portion of the cemetery together with his brother, Edmund, both in plot number 33.
