Biography

Alias Maurice McSHEA.

Morris' parents were married in South Australia on 21 May 1862 and proceeded to produce 5 boys and 1 girl. They were: James Patrick born 1 March 1863; John born 29 December 1868; Thomas; Michael born 26 May 1873; David born 20 November 1877; and Catharine born 16 February 1879.

John died 3 April 1911 Coolgardie and is buried in the Coolgardie Cemetery.

McShea was employed at the Oroya Palace Hotel. A mug containing cyanide had been found on a table near the bed on which the deceased was found. McShea left four letters in which he stated he was "leaving to-day forever." An inquest into his death was held the following day, in which the jury returned a verdict of suicide.

The deceased is buried in the Roman Catholic portion of the cemetery, plot number 8.
