The deceased is buried in the Roman Catholic portion of the cemetery, plot number 16.
The lady, an old identity of Sandstone, was found dead in her house at Green Street by the police. When discovered she had evidently been dead about two days. It appears that a neighbour made enquiries from the police as to whether they had seen Mrs. Pratt, saying he had missed her for a day or two. Constable Byron then went to the house, the front door of which was shut and and a box against it. The back door was also shut, but not locked. On entering the bedroom the constable found the body of Mrs. Pratt lying on a mattress on the floor. The body was naked except for a short pink flannelette shirt or shift, which was round the upper part of the body, decomposition of which had commenced. The constable noticed no marks of violence, and everything about the house seemed to be in order.
