Biography

The child's father, Patrick Joseph Gleeson, was born in 1867 in Newbridge, Victoria.

Leo's mother, Mary Seaborn, was born 26 June 1884 at Stawell, Victoria. On 9 December 1906, she married George Mills at Mt Margaret district. She bore him two sons before she divorced him 7 July 1914 on the grounds of desertion. Mary then married Patrick Joseph Gleeson on 23 June 1915 at Boulder, Western Australia (Marriage Registration 14/1915, Boulder). Agnes was the first of their children. She was born 6 October 1915 and died 8 October 1915. Then came Leo Henry. It appears that his death registration may not have come through until the following year, which has led the family to believe there may have been a second child named Leo Henry born in 1917. This has not been confirmed. Then came Emma Mary born 15 February 1918 at Boulder and Alice born 1923, Boulder. Patrick Joseph Gleeson died 23 August 1934 at Katanning, Western Australia. His wife died 3 August 1968 in Kalgoorlie. Agnes' story is also told in this website.
