Biography

The body of Harry Stelling was found hanging from a tree near Doyle's Well, with his belt fastened around his throat. It was alleged he had been drinking heavily prior to the discovery of his body. At the inquest, it was found that death was due to asphyxia, brought on by strangulation. A gash about an inch long was found on his wrist, indicating he had tried to cut an artery. The deceased is buried in Plot 30, Section A, Roman Catholic section of Lawlers Cemetery.
