Biography

Deceased had lived in Victoria for 7 years before moving to Western Australia and was known as Mary Constance Stewart Holohan after her mother remarried. This talented young lady had a very successful career in her musical studies — winning the cap and gown at the Geraldton Convent School the previous Christmas. She had gained the musical qualification of A.L.C.M. , which gave her a diploma in music performance and teaching from the London College of Music (LCM), a school within the University of West London. This Associate qualification allowed the young lady to append the qualification letters, A.L.C.M. after her name. The late Miss Holohan had been suffering for some time from appendicitis and it became necessary to operate. Dr Cameron, of Leonora, proceeded by motor car to Lawlers and performed the operation with Dr Moloney but the patient proved to be in too low a condition for medical skill to save her life. Mary Constance is buried in Plot 36, Section A, Roman Catholic section of the Lawlers Cemetery.
