Vale Sam Lovell
We are sad to report the recent death in Derby of our great friend and mentor, Sam Lovell. Sam was coming up to his 93rd birthday and leaves behind a lifetime of achievements, friendships and guidance to generations of people.
His knowledge of Kimberley history, stories and places was unmatched and we have lost a man who has been a role model and a source of inspiration and enjoyment to all who met him. Sam was always backed by his wife Rosita, who shared his businesses, friendships and adventures over many years.
Sammy Lovell searched for and found many graves for us and then guided us into very remote places to mark them at Oobagooma, Mt House, Glenroy, Mt Hart, Mondooma, Richenda Gorge and Mt Broome. I will always remember our bush trips with Sam as being the best days possible. His bush knowledge, lovely nature and his easy giggle made every moment a pleasure.
Our thoughts and marvellous memories go to Rosita, family and friends of Sammy Lovell.
