In 1915, he married Mary Elliott Marshall, daughter of Captain T. S. Marshall of Fremantle at Roebourne (Trove marriage notice 18 Dec 1915), on which Marriage Certificate George was described as being a widower, although it is not known when or where his first wife died. They had a daughter Nellie, born in Cottesloe in 1917.

In 1920 George was manager of Wogoola Station, Onslow.

His daughter Nellie died in Kalgoorlie in 1955. Mary, his second wife, died in Perth in 1943.
