Cause of Death: Suicide; cut throat with razor

Sergeant Donovan, returned to Leonora, from Wilson's Patch, to find that Robert Ellitson had committed suicide behind the Great Western Hotel by cutting his throat with a razor and gashing his left arm in several places. Ellitson had been drinking and was last seen alive on the Monday night. There was no justice available within fifty miles of the place and the sergeant summoned a jury, which, after viewing the body, ordered the burial.
