The deceased died at the end of January 1905 and is buried at the 299 Mile Peg on the Rabbit Proof Fence, near Barrambie in the East Murchison. He is buried where he was found by Police Constable Samuel Robert Pierce (Regimental Number 296). His death was certified in writing by Police Constable James McDonald (Regimental Number 266), of Nannine. There may have been some connection between the deceased and a Mr McCAUL, who died the same year and is also buried at the 299 Mile Peg - but the connection has not yet been established.
