Ronald Donald MCMILLAN (more)

Cause of Death: Supposed Heart Failure

The deceased was buried by JF Moore about 50-60 kms east of Kookynie. Witnesses present at the burial were Eugene Rider and James O'Connor. His death was certified in writing by Police Constable James O'Connor (Regimental No. 187) of Yundermindera. He was employed as a shepherd by Robert Heppingstone and died, supposedly, of heart failure. The occupation of shepherd was not a common one for the area but the Coolgardie Herald, dated 17 December 1904, on the Box Creek Rush, stated: A number of miners employed by Potosi Consolidated have left work to proceed to the rush and about sixteen parties are working claims and others are shepherding.
