Cause of Death: Accidental Gunshot

Of this cameleer's death, it was reported that “While stalking game, he accidentally discharged his weapon, causing fatal injuries.” The accident occurred approximately 70 miles from Innamincka on 4 April, when he accidentally shot himself in the thigh. He lingered until 6 April before he died. Mr. A. E. Witherly arrived from Cordillo Downs about an hour after the death and gave instructions for Mullock's countrymen, who were with him when the accident occurred, to dig a grave and put him in, then wait until the police arrived from Innamincka. After receiving a report of the death on 7 April, Inspector B.C. Besley, of Port Augusta, left for Tooroowatchie to make enquiries and to see the corpse buried.
