This little boy's father, George Anderson Adams, was born 15 May 1862 at Forfar, Angus, Scotland. He emigrated to Australia, arriving in Brisbane on 29 December 1883. There he met and married Norah Regan on 10 August 1889 (Marriage Registration 1889/C/329). She was born 29 November 1862 at Drinagh, County Cork, Ireland. The deceased little chap was the youngest of their children. The other children included Mary Isabella born 22 October 1889; Catherine Anderson born 3 March 1892; Grace born 17 April 1895; Norah born 21 May 1897; Charles George born 29 September 1900.

By 1919, the family were back living in Cairns, Queensland, and in Innisfail in 1923. It is believed Norah died 21 September 1939 in Queensland. Her husband, George Anderson Adams, died 22 April 1923 at Innisfail. The little boy died of a quite unusual ailment called dentition collapse, often called Facial Collapse, which is when the jaw bone begins to shrink after a tooth is lost. Chewing forces are transmitted down the teeth into the bone. The chewing forces stimulate and preserve bone levels. When teeth are missing the bone is no longer needed to support the teeth. Therefore, the bone will start to disappear.  The details of this little boy's case are not known but, given his age, the cause of death certainly seems unusual.

His older sister, Grace, died in 1908 and is buried in the Malcolm Cemetery, Shire of Leonora. Her story also appears in this website.

The child's death was certified to in writing by C. Lamb, Undertaker, of Cumberland Street, Kookynie.

At an inquest held at Kookynie on 30 January 1904, it was stated that this young man, who was found hanging to the ridge pole of his camp at Tampa, was in Perth recently, dived into shallow water and struck his head severely against the bottom. It was thought that his mind was severely affected by the concussion. He had two brothers who were working in Kalgoorlie at the time. The deceased was the fourth of five children born to an English couple who married in Victoria in 1861 (Marriage Registration 157/1861). Their other children were: Edward Martin born 1863; Arthur born 1865; Ernest Walter born 1872; Frederick Howard in 1878; Edith Laura born 1879. Young Frederick Howard had spent 15 years living in Victoria before moving to Western Australia.

The child is buried near Gold Mine Lease 41G, Kookynie. The parents of this little child were married in Perth in 1903 (Marriage Registration 1145/1903, Perth). They had a little girl in 1904 in Perth, who was also stillborn (Birth Registration 4874/1904, Perth).

This little girl was the fourth daughter born to James Alexander and Jean Arkley. The others were Ellen Isabella, born 1898, Jessie Elizabeth born 1899 and Robenia Alexandra, who was born in 1903 (Birth Registration 1803/1903) and died in 1904 (Death Registration 803/1904), aged 22 months, at Kookynie. Just five months after little Beryl's death, her father, James Alexander, died, also at Kookynie, of tubercular disease of the lungs. He was 40 years of age. Jean Paton had endured the deaths of two of her daughters, followed by the death of her husband, all between October 1904 and July 1905. Jean remarried on 12 August 1908 to Thomas Arthur Gordon Brown (Marriage Registration 12/1908, Blackwood). The couple had a son in 1911. Jean died in December 1932 in Perth.

The deceased had spent 35 years in Victoria before moving to Western Australia. He and his wife had two little girls and two more were born and died while they lived in Kookynie. The story of both little girls appears in this website. His estate was valued at £108. 8s which was left to his wife. Jean had lived through the deaths of two of her daughters, in October 1904 and February 1905, only to face the death of her husband five months later. To assist with her living expenses, Jean took in washing and eventually remarried on 12 August 1908 to Thomas Arthur Gordon Brown (Marriage Registration 12/1908, Blackwood). The couple had a son in 1911. Jean died in December 1932 in Perth.

The deceased had lived in Victoria for 34 years before moving to Western Australia. He had worked in Menzies and Niagara and was well known and respected in mining circles. The funeral was attended by relatives and friends from Menzies, his old mates from Niagara, and many leading citizens.

The deceased had suffered for 3 weeks before her death.

Known as Lazy.

Les acquired his nickname from his German friends, Horst, whose pronunciation of "Leslie" simply sounded like "Lazy" - and it stuck.

LES was born in Richmond, Victoria, 3rd September 1944, to Sylvia Gladys Moxham (née KING) and Reginald Earnest BAULCH.  He was the middle child, with older brother Christopher James, born in 1938 and younger sister, Helen Cecelia born in 1946.  In 1945 the family moved to an old orchard in Croydon, where Les completed all his schooling.

Dad Reg died in 1950.  Les and Helen being close in age formed a strong life-long bond which remained throughout his life.

A free spirit, Les roamed the paddocks and bush, discovering and learning to love nature.  From bird-watching, footy and cricket, Les became a clerk in the Postmaster General’s Department.  This was not for him.  In the early 1960s, he left for Lightning Ridge NSW in the search for Opal, then on to Rubyvale QLD looking for Sapphires.  Les had travelled Australia extensively and in the 1980s, he settled in his beloved Kookynie WA prospecting for Gold.  He lived in his bush camp on Dingo Creek in the Tampa/Butterfly area near his original Orient Well lease. 

The name Lazy was endowed upon him by an acquaintance who had a heavy accent.  Leslie became Lazy.

In July 2023, hospitalised with cancer, Les was still in touch with his siblings every day.  He died in Kalgoorlie Hospital 29th October 2022.  It is thanks to the persistence and dedication to her dear brother (Lop) that Helen was able to have the Kookynie Cemetery re-opened to enable Les to be laid to rest eternally on 22nd February 2023.

He lived the life he wanted.  He gave his heart, his hand, his knowledge, his wealth and friendship to so many.

The parents of this child had already lost another son, Phil Boase, who died aged 16 months in 1900 (born Gippsland, VIC) and is buried in the Coolgardie Cemetery (Death Reg.No.257/1900). Their surviving children were James, born Kalgoorlie 1901 (Birth Registration 756/1901), John, born Kurrawang 1902 (Birth Registration 1331/1902), Annie born Niagara (Birth Registration 2060/1904) 

The child is buried in Plot 22 of the Roman Catholic portion of Kookynie Cemetery.  His older brother also appears in this database and is buried in Kookynie Cemetery.

The deceased is buried in Plot 53 of the Roman Catholic section of Kookynie Cemetery. Her husband, known as Private Edward Boase, was killed in action somewhere in France on 27 September 1917. He is listed as being the father of Edward and Kevin. The Death Notice which appeared in the newspaper was inserted by F & M Woosnam.

Peggy's first husband died in 6 October 1990 in Sydney. It is assumed the four children were from her first marriage. No record of a second marriage has been identified.

Peggy was widely known as "the Duchess of Dingo Creek".

Although there is no record of a formal marriage, this couple lie side by side in the Kookynie Cemetery. 

The child is buried in Plot 49 of the Roman Catholic portion of Kookynie Cemetery.

Her father, John Patrick Bourke, was born in 1873 in Ballarat, Victoria. He married Sarah Jane Duggan in 1900 at Paddington. She was born 1874 in Victoria. Eileen Augusta was their first born child. The others were: Margaret Johanna born 1903 at Paddington and John Patrick born 15 May 1905 at Paddington.

The child's mother died in 1925 in Perth. Her father died 19 July 1942 in Meekatharra, aged 67 years, after a short illness.
