Aka BATHY: Buried in the Yuin Mine Cemetery by A.A. Carwardine (Church of England). Witnesses present at the burial; were Fred Bock and AJ Porter. Accidentally crushed under the wheels of a dray.
Aka Frank Buried Yuin Mine Cemetery Frank Douglas was for some time employed as a fitter on the Sons of Gwalia mine, and left shortly after the fire which destroyed the plant to take up a position at Yuin. He apparently left very little behind and his widow and six young children were in need of financial assistance. At Gwalia and Leonora, where Frank Douglas had previously worked, the Co-Op Picture Co screened picture entertainments in aid of his widow and family.
Panizza was burnt to death in his camp at Yuin. From reports, it is thought that the fire originated from a lighted candle. The deceased was well-known at Day Dawn, where he had worked for some time. He was buried by Bob Berti and another Italian, witnessed by Police Constable Percy Frederick Hamilton (Regimental number 581). The burial service was read by Reginald W Fremlin, JP. His death was certified in writing by Bob Panizza, his brother.
