Herbert was the second child of Edith and William FLEAY. His nickname was Jubilee. He was not one of twins as had been occasionally recorded. He died about 1879 reportedly of scalding but this has not been confirmed. Curiously, his birth name is recorded as being Robert William James and at death, his name was recorded as Herbert William James. Clarification has been sought but does not differ from these records.

Henry Elijah and Louise were married in 1895 at Arthur River (Marriage Registration 147/1895, Arthur River) and had a large family of 16 children. Their life was not without tragedy. Their first born were twins, of whom one died when only a few weeks old. He/she was actually buried on "Tachbrook." - Quoted from 'A Farming Family - the Fleays of Western Australia' by Jennifer GARDNER page 52 It has not been conclusively confirmed that this is indeed the correct family for this child, who was a twin.
