The young man was buried by John W Cleghorn. Witnesses present at the burial were AEA Connell and H George Gassidy. His death certified in writing by May Kenney, his aunt, of Callion.

Thomas died after a month's illness from what was described on his death certificate as "Hereditary Consumption". This young man spent the first 12 years, 5 months of his life in Tasmania before arriving in Western Australia.
