Dominic Taverini died suddenly on the plat at the Sand Queen mine, No. 2 level. While the other miners were at their meal break, Dominic came along the level to the plat to get a drink of water. He was about to drink it when he was seen to stagger and fall. Although he was given immediate assistance, he was found to have died instantly. Constable Weaver was in Comet Vale at the time and took charge. He reported it to the Coroner (Mr. Gibbons), of Menzies, who ordered that a post-mortem examination be held which proved that the death was due to heart failure.
The death was registered by Lorenzo EPIS, brother-in-law of the deceased.
