Biography

The deceased child is buried in plot number 2 of the Church of England section of the cemetery. Seven months later, her brother, Frank, was laid to rest in the same plot and three months after Frank, his twin sister, Mabel, joined them in plot number 2. Mabel and Frank were born in 1908. Frank died 27 November 1908 and Mabel died 25 February 1909. Their father was Thomas Rochester, Chairman of the Sandstone Hospital Committee in 1907. Little Hilda Elizabeth had been ailing for some time but it was hoped the cool weather would have been in the child's favour. However, her health deteriorated rapidly and she died a week later. Her parents were married in Perth in 1903 (Marriage Reg.No. 1594/1903). Their son, Thomas Humphrey, was born in Perth in 1904 (Birth Reg.No.4360/1904).
