Biography

Downie was burned to death when his camp caught fire while he was asleep. His tent was surrounded by boughs and he had left a light burning. By some means, the light was upset and the camp was burned. The deceased, who was well known to be addicted to the morphia habit, was seriously burned before be could be awakened, and he died four hours later. The deceased is buried in the non-conformist section of the cemetery., plot number 7.
