Biography

Mr Trenerry was involved in the erection of mining machinery and died from the effects of a scalding accident at Youanmi Gold Mine, Coorang, where he had been employed for some months. He was engaged in repairing an air compressor when a sudden gush of boiling water from the cylinder scalded him on the legs, arm and chest. He was immediately removed by motor car to the Sandstone Hospital (a distance of 60 miles from Youanmi), and until the 16th, was reported to be progressing favourably. On that date, a relapse occurred and on Monday, the 18th, he succumbed.

The deceased had a brother, Victor A Trenerry, of the South Australian Brewing Company office. His other known brothers were Eldred and Harold, all born in South Australia. Their father, James Trenerry, was employed by the Broken Hill Proprietary Company in Port Pirie. The deceased is buried in the Church of England portion of the cemetery, plot number 17.
