Biography

The child's parents were married in 1903 at Day Dawn (Marriage Reg.No.1064/1903, Day Dawn). Of their seven children, Edward was the fourth child of six boys and one girl. His siblings were: Albert Lawrence born 1905 Woodlupine, Ethel Lillian Elizabeth born 1908 Day Dawn, Francis Lewis born 1911 Black Range, Ivor Richard born 1917 Meekatharra, Eric Suffield born 1921 Meekatharra and Phillip Alexis born 1924 Meekatharra. The children's father was an engine drive who eventually became a newsagent in 1926 in Meekatharra and then opened a business in Wiluna in 1930. He died at Meekatharra in 1941. His wife died in Perth in 1958. Edward is buried in plot number 19 in the Roman Catholic section of the cemetery. Also in that plot is his older brother, Francis Lewis, who died at Black Range in 1912.
