Biography

Aka SAID Was buried in the bush 2 miles from TAMPA by his countrymen. Death certified in writing by Police Constable George Wilson (Regimental No.290), Niagara. Mahomed died of exhaustion as a consequence of his being 56 hours without food and water.

Comments:About 2002, his grave was cleared (with a grader) of surrounding timber lengths. Soon after, the burial site was re-found and although still unnamed, it was marked with two upright stakes and the white stones (perhaps a few more picked up from nearby). Another description of the grave's location is about three kilometres south of Blevens Find Battery at Tampa (Melita Mining) on the west side of the road about 50 metres in, near diggings on both sides of the road.
