Biography

While driving from Innamincka to Farina in the mail coach, Mr. William Henry Kleeman died in his seat some 6 miles north of Box Flat. He had been employed for 16 months on the station and was on his way to Adelaide for treatment for a sickness that was though just before t to be dropsy. His death was witnessed by Arch Bennett . The body was taken to Farina by Mr. J. Paterson, of Tinga Tingara, the mail driver. He reported the death to Mr. H. J. Bayly, who, being a J.P. and a Government Inspector of Wells and Bores, gave a certificate of death. Mr. Kleeman was married, and his wife lives at Lincoln Street, Corryton, near Magill. The unfortunate man had a premonition that he was to die and drew a cheque for his wages in his wife's name.
