Biography

The child's parents were married in Kalgoorlie in 1905 (Marriage Registration 555/1905, Kalgoorlie). In 1893 Catherine had married Thomas James Frew, with whom she had four children. He died in Kookynie on 11 May 1902. His story appears on this website. After the death of her husband, Catherine took in boarders, one of whom was Frank Ford, who became her second husband at Kookynie in 1905 (Marriage Registration 555/1905).  Ellen Matilda was the first of the three children born to this marriage.  The others were : Eileen Alma born 1906 in Pinjin (Birth Registration 1900117/1906, North Coolgardie); William Francis born 1i908 in Kalgoorlie (Birth Registration 1800002/1909, East Coolgardie), died 1910 in Kalgoorlie (Death Registration 1800023/1910, East Coolgardie), aged 15 months.

Frederick Francis Ford died 6 September 1950 in South Perth (Death Registration 102108/1950, Perth), aged 74 years, and Catherine died in 1952.
