Biography

Mr Dorman was buried at The Granites in the Leonora district. Witnesses present at the burial were Joseph J Willis, Charles Keen and Charles Kelly. In the police report it was stated : "James Dornan died White Well near Abbotts." He apparently left Nannine on the morning of the 14th with a team. They camped for dinner but about 10 miles out, he complained of excessive heat before becoming utterly prostrated. He climbed onto the load in the wagon but succumbed an hour later, some 19 miles from Nannine. Dornan's body was apparently left in the wagon for three days before it was buried, and that when it was buried, the coffin was placed almost level with the surface of the earth.
