Biography

The little chap apparently suffered from Haemophilia which caused excessive blood loss when he was circumcised. Little Alfred appears to have been the youngest of six children born to Elizabeth and Timothy Donovan. His siblings were Mary Ellen born 1896 in Melbourne; John Patrick born 19 February 1899 in Menzies (Birth Registration 1158/1899); Annie Elizabeth born 1901 in Kookynie (Birth Registration 1621/1901); Margaret Veronica born 21 August 1903 in Kookynie (Birth Registration 1929/1903); Samuel Timothy born 1906 (Birth Registration 77/1906, North Coolgardie). Another son, born 1897, died a short time after birth.
