Biography

This little person suffered from ileocolitis, which is the most common type of Crohn's disease. It causes inflammation in the end of the small intestine and in the colon.

Mabel Pearl was the fifth of eleven children born to this couple. Their six sons and five daughters were: Arthur Kenneth born June 1895 at Broken Hill, died 25 June 1895 (Birth Registration 10343/1895,Broken Hill); Hugh Kenneth born 2 August 1896 in Rushworth, Victoria (Birth Registration 23096/1896, Rushworth); Edger Garnet born 1898 at Rushworth (Birth Registration 21914/1898, Rushmore); Sylvia Coral born 1901 at Rushworth (Birth Registration 6398/1901, Rushmore); Mabel Pearl born 13 September 1903 at West Coolgardie (Birth Registration 896/1903), died 8 November 1904 at Leonora (Death Registration 1531/1904) ; Doris May born 21 July 1905 at Niagara (Birth Registration 2205/1905), Western Australia; Newman Alick born 2 February 1907 at Kookynie (Birth Registration 1900035/1907, North Coolgardie); Florence Kathleen born 30 June 1909 at Kookynie (Birth Registration 1900074/1909, North Coolgardie); Leonard Edward born 19 November 1911 at Bridgetown (Birth Registration 500122/1911, Blackwood); Ivy Nellie born 29 October 1914 at Manjimup in 1913 (Birth Registration 500192/1913, Blackwood); Donald Allen born 19 October 1915 at Jarnadup (Birth Registration 500195/1915, Blackwood).

Florence died 13 February 1947 at Pemberton (Death Registration 500019/1947, Blackwood). Edward died 5 January 1954 at Nedlands (Death Registration 100153/1954, Perth).

Little Doris May Golding was buried in the Kookynie Cemetery.  Her sister, Mabel Pearl, who died in Leonora in November 1904, is also remembered in this website.
