Known as Fred.

This young man died as the result of a pea-rifle shot received accidentally six weeks before his death.  An operation was finally performed on him and the unfortunate lad succumbed almost immediately afterwards.

In company with a youth named Archer, Freddie had gone out some distance from Beria on the Kalgoorlie and Boulder Firewood Company's trucks. His companion had possession of the rifle when it accidentally went off, the bullet passing through one of Fred's legs above the back of the knee and entering the other leg at a corresponding angle.

An operation was finally performed on him on the day of his death and the unfortunate lad succumbed almost immediately afterwards.

A Death Notice inserted in the newspapers sadly states that it was from his father, mother and sister.  Sad, because Augustina and John Baptiste Boerio had given birth to six children, three of whom died aged 3 months and a fourth aged 19 months.  Only Elena and Fred survived infancy.  The couple were married in 1899 in Perth (Marriage Registration 1167/1899).  Their other children, who all appear in this website, were: Rudolph Mulline (whose birth registration was listed as Adolph) was born 1900 and died 20 May 1900 at Mt Higgins; Erna Pearl was born in 1905 and died 10 November 1906 at Davyhurst; Anna Christina was born in 1906 and died 25 June 1906 at Davyhurst; Hermine Margaret was born in 1908 and died 1 July 1908 at Davyhurst.  Elena Frieda was born in 1904 at Davyhurst and went on to marry Frederick Clyde Barker in 1925 at Kalgoorlie.

Interestingly, Mrs Boerio was always one to help others.  When donations were called to help the war effort, she never failed to make contributions of clothes and support in any way she could.
