Biography

A group of friends had left Leonora for Lawlers and were camped in a creek bed at Doyle's Well when the deceased got up during the night to feed a mare. When he returned, he complained that the mare had kicked him in the stomach and asked if he could be taken to the hotel. The next day, Grossini said that his stomach was very sore and that he could hardly draw breath. On reaching Lawlers on Sunday 21st, he was taken to the hospital but was no longer complaining about pain. He died the next day. The Inquest determined that death was caused by heart failure, consequent on shock, the result of a severe blow received in the abdomen. Antonio is buried in Plot 12, Section A of Lawlers Cemetery.
