Biography

Mr Patrick Crawley was one of the pioneers of the Mount Margaret district.

His father, Jeremiah, was born in Cork, Ireland, about 1828.  He married Mary Torpy in Victoria in 1867.

Patrick is buried in Plot number 221 of the Roman Catholic portion of the Leonora Cemetery.

He had lived in Victoria for 19 years before moving to Western Australia, and left the amount of 657 pounds to his wife, Annie.

Comments:A newspaper article mentions that he left a wife and three daughters (Bessie, Dora and Mary} and seven sons (Jack, Frank, Tim, Bob, Dan, Con. and Pat) to mourn their loss."
At the time of their father's death, the following children were listed on his Death Certificate: Dora 19 years, Mary 13 years, Constance 12years, Patrick 9 years, 2 males and 2 females deceased.  Interestingly, the births of the first 6 children were registered in 1934, the year of their father's death. However, no early Death Registrations are listed for the apparent deceased children and no further Birth Registrations are recorded.
