At the time of his death, the publican at Kathleen Valley was Edward Coffey.  Leech died from typhoid fever and haemorrhage after about a fortnight's illness.

It was late in the afternoon when the Rev. gentleman arrived at Lawlers and the burial was carried out in semi-darkness.  He had only been at the Mount for about eight months.

Parents:Emily and Benjamin LEECH (Fruiterer)
Birth Details:Born 1879, Kyneton, Victoria; Birth Registration 9964/1878, Kyneton
Death Certificate:1601/1905
Comments:In his Birth Registration, his mother's name is listed as Mary LAWLESS, as opposed to the 'Emily" who is listed on his Death Registration. So the names of his parents may be incorrect.
His Death Registration states he was buried at Kathleen Valley but the East Murchison News and the Mt Leonora Miner both reported his death as being at Mt Sir Samuel.
