Murray James was the youngest of six children in a family of two girls and four boys. He is buried in the Church of England portion of the Cemetery.

The infant is buried in the Roman Catholic portion of the cemetery, plot number 24. The child's parents were married in 1913 at Black Range (Marriage Reg.No.19/1913, Black Range). The father died in Perth in 1936 and his wife died in Perth in 1963.

Cause of Death:

The child's parents were married in 1903 at Day Dawn (Marriage Reg.No.1064/1903, Day Dawn). Of their seven children, Edward was the fourth child of six boys and one girl. His siblings were: Albert Lawrence born 1905 Woodlupine, Ethel Lillian Elizabeth born 1908 Day Dawn, Francis Lewis born 1911 Black Range, Ivor Richard born 1917 Meekatharra, Eric Suffield born 1921 Meekatharra and Phillip Alexis born 1924 Meekatharra. The children's father was an engine drive who eventually became a newsagent in 1926 in Meekatharra and then opened a business in Wiluna in 1930. He died at Meekatharra in 1941. His wife died in Perth in 1958. Edward is buried in plot number 19 in the Roman Catholic section of the cemetery. Also in that plot is his older brother, Francis Lewis, who died at Black Range in 1912.

Cause of Death: Intussusception

The little chap died of intussusception, which is when one part of the bowel slides into the next and the flow of fluids and foods get blocked. The intestine then swells and bleeds. The first sign may be sudden with severe pain and this little chap had suffered for 28 hours before he died. The deceased is buried in the Methodist portion of the Cemetery, in plot number 2.

Matilda was the third of 12 children. She and her husband moved to Western Australia early in the 1900s. The deceased is buried in Roman Catholic portion of the cemetery in plot number 35 with her husband, Patrick George Green.

Alias Paddy Green. It is believed that Matilda was Paddy's third marriage and that he possibly had two children to each of those previous two wives. No further details are available. The entire estate of Patrick George Green, of Sandstone, was left to Matilda Green, of Sandstone. The deceased was buried in the Roman Catholic portion of the 0cemetery, plot number 35.

Cause of Death: Injured by a falling drill

Mr Henricksen, stepson of Mr. J.P. Breusch of South Kolan, was working in a shaft at the Hacks Deep Mine when a drill fell on him, fracturing his skull. In spite of having an operation, he died in the Black Range Hospital a few days later without having regained consciousness. Deceased was a native of this district, where he spent his childhood and early manhood. He was a particularly fine type of young fellow, his manly qualities and general demeanour endeared him to all who knew him and the news of his untimely death occasioned a deep sense of regret. He spent some years in mining in North Queensland, subsequently settling at Mount Morgan and on leaving the service of the latter company, he received a high testimonial as to his skill and experience. During the past few years he had followed mining in West Australia and was well known at Day Dawn where he had been employed for several years on the Great Fingall. The deceased is buried in the Church of England portion of the cemetery, plot number 10. The deceased's father, Jacob Henricksen, died in 1882 and his mother, Maria, married Jens Peter Jensen Breusch on 8 July 1887 (Marriage Registration 1887/C/106 Queensland) when Thomas William would have been 10 years of age.

Cause of Death: Suicide

A well-known prospector living near Sandstone, Howie committed suicide by blowing his head off with a dynamite cap. When the unfortunate man's body was discovered, it was headless and the opinion is that he put a dynamite cap Into his mouth with a short fuse attached, the result being that the head was entirely blown away, and part of the right hand and arm was also shattered and gone. It was a gruesome sight. It was stated that he had been drinking heavily for a week or more. Howie was well known in the Lawlers district and had been in the Murchison for about 17 or 18 years, during which time he had amassed a large amount of money. The verdict of the coroner's inquiry was that he committed suicide whilst of unsound mine. It was understood that he left two children in the Cue Convent School. He was personally known to many residents of the Sandstone district for the past eight or nine years and his funeral reflected the high esteem in which he was held in the community. The deceased is buried in the non-conformist section of the cemetery, plot number 8.
