Biography

This little lady is buried in the Bombala Cemetery, New South Wales.  She had been suffering for 3 weeks before her death.

Her parents were married 2 January 1871 in Bourke, New South Wales (Marriage Registration 1779/1871, Bombala).  Her siblings were: Catherine born 1873 (Birth Registration 7833/1883, Bombala) ; Harriett Martha born 1876;  Margaret born 1880 (Birth Registration 10852/1880, Bombala); Patrick WL born 1883 (Birth Registration 23404/1883, Bombala); James Joseph Parnell born 1886.

James Joseph Murphy, born Wexford in Ireland in 1842, was admitted to Darlinghurst gaol, New South Wales, on 24 December 1877. On 23 December 1877, he was charged with breaking in and stealing from the store of Armstrong L. Munn, Merimbula, and stealing therein two pieces of calico, one dozen shirts, and other goods.  He was sentenced to 18 months in Darlinghurst prison with hard labour. On a different charge of drunkenness, he was fined 10 shillings and gaoled for 48 hours.  He died on 5 December 1892.

 Marion's mother, Harriett, was born in Sydney on 7 August 1854.  She died 1 October 1932 at South Kensington, Sydney, aged 78 years.

 Her sister, Margaret, and niece, Meta May, are both represented in this website.
