Cause of Death: Heart Attack

Collapsed suddenly and died while carrying two tins of water.Barry and another man named Brown were working the Killaloe lease, on the Callion Road, near Mt. Higgins. It appears that Barry and another man named Brown were working the Killaloe lease, on the Callion Road, near Mt. Higgins. On Wednesday Brown went to work as usual, leaving Barry to go for a bucket of water. Barry did not put in an appearance, and Brown returned to the camp and proceeded to look for him, noticing that the bucket was standing empty in front of the camp. A short distance away from the camp he found Barry's dead body.

Cause of Death: Asthma

Also known as Thomas Hylton Hewitt. Deceased was a mine owner in the Mulwarrie area. He had been suffering for a week with "asthma bronchitis asphyxia". His death was certified in writing by HJ Hewitt, his brother, of Kintore. He had lived in Victoria for 28 years prior to arriving in Western Australia. A street in Mulwarrie was named after him. His daughter, Lillian, became a nun (SR Clements) and entered the convent as a member of the "Our Lady of the Missions" order at Highgate, Perth. Following her husband's death in 1904, Teresa herself became a missionary in India. Thomas came from Victoria with Teresa's family, Mr and Mrs McParlin, travelling with their children and their respective spouses. Another son-in-law, Tom Ducrow (married to Catherine McParlin) also had a gold mine and a street named after him. Later, Catherine became the mid-wife in Davyhurst. Emily Kearns married Henry Herbig, at Davyhurst, in 1905 (Marriage Reg.No.572/1905) but there is no record to suggest that this gentleman was the father of little Eileen Fay.

Cause of Death: Entero-Colitis

The child's official cause of death is "entero colitis" which the little child had suffered for 48 hours prior to death. His death was certified in writing by R.D. Pym, father, from Mulwarrie. The child's siblings, born to this couple were: An unnamed male, Birth Reg.No. 922/1902; and Richard Guy, Birth Reg.No.1816/1904. The birth of each of these children was registered at Kalgoorlie.
